The National Stuttering Project (NSA) was founded over 20 years ago (1977) and is the largest support organization for people who stutter in the U.S. Their comprehensive Web site features information on NSA support groups across the U.S., information on forming and running a chapter, a complete illustrated list of NSP publications and videos, and a growing archive of articles on the technical and personal aspects of stuttering from the pages of Letting GO, the NSP's monthly newsletter, among a whole lot else.

Cued Speech is a visual communication system that uses eight handshapes in four different placements near the face in combination with the mouth movements of speech to make the sounds of spoken language look different from each other. The National Cued Speech Association encourages and supports the effective use of cued speech for communication, language development, and literacy. They offer opportunities for networking and advocacy, and provide information, literature and referrals, phone support, networking, conferences, and family camps.
